In 2010, the base annual premium will increase to $35 per plan participant. Currently, the rate is $34 per plan participant. This $1 increase is due to federal law requiring premium adjustments to reflect changes in the national average weekly wage during the prior year. Will that $1 matter? In 2008, the PBGC had a $10.7 billion deficit in its single-employer insurance program. | Giving Constructive Criticism | |  It's a fact of life we can't avoid.
